After completing my thruhike of the Appalachian Trail my most prized possesions were the pictures that I had taken along the way. For those that don't know the Appalachian Trail is a 2,175mile hiking trail that stretches from Georgia to Maine going through 14 states along the east coast and a thruhike is hiking the entire trail from end to end. Most know of the trail from Bill Bryon's book A Walk in the Woods.

I began my thruhike in Georgia on March 24, 2006 and headed north where I finished in Maine on October 1, 2007. It was the time of my life and something I will never forget. For close to six months I carried my Nikon D80 through the woods and over the Appalachian Mountains. At times I hated carrying it for the weight but I never had a thought of sending it home. After keeping these pictures so close I thought it was time to share them with anyone willing to take a look. I could only hope to inspire someone to do their own thruhike but if I only inspire you to go out for a day or even a weekend to experience the trail I consider that an accomplishment. Please enjoy the beauty that is the Appalachian Mountains along the Appalachian Trail.
